Abstract: Over the last year, I have explored the narrative of balance — which has been used frequently since antiquity by several cultures — to describe in an integrated way complexity, phase transitions, criticality, the slower-is-faster effect, antifragility, networks, fractals, heterogeneity, and evolution. In this last chapter, I explore the philosophical implications of the balance narrative. In particular, I will refer to problem solving, communication, scientific explanations, epistemology, ontology, and ethics. As an epilogue, I will reflect on the balance of balance.
