External Professor Constantino Tsallis has been elected as a member of the Academia de Ciencias de America Latina. Since 1982, the ACAL has promoted the development of and applications for math and science research in Latin America and the Caribbean. Tsallis joins an established membership of 222 academics.
Tsallis heads the Department of Theoretical Physics at the Centro Brasileiro de Pesquisas Fisicas in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and also the National Institute of Science and Technology for Complex Systems of Brazil. He is one of the most internationally renowned scientists in its region, writes the ACAL.
