Our Small World: How Networks of People and Information Shape Our World [The Connected World]
Networks appear in every part of our lives. Some of them are obvious: the internet, the road network, the power grid. Others are less obvious, such as the social network of who knows whom in the world, or the metabolic network of chemical machinery that powers the cells in our bodies. Newman introduces a wide range of networks from different branches of science and describes the experiments we do to learn about them.
