It increasingly looks as though advances in AI and climate adaptation will drive a fundamental reconfiguration of our economic, social, and technological systems. However, the science of how such structural transformation takes place across these multi-linked complex systems has received comparably less attention. Even less is known about the efficacy of specific interventions or strategies for inducing structural change within a given system towards specific goals. In this ACtioN Virtual Discussion the organizers of a recent SFI workshop structural transformation, Penny Mealy (SFI, World Bank) and William Hynes (SFI, World Bank), will examine some of the ideas and applications raised during the larger workshop.
