Meeting Summary: This working group is a follow-up on the NSF-supported workshop, held at SFI in April 2018, which explored different perspectives on social learning. The group will explore how models from statistical physics can be enriched with actual cognitive mechanisms and real-world social network structures, and how they can be used to understand real-world spread of beliefs, in particular beliefs about scientific and political issues.
